What happens inside a class at Breathe Better Rehab?
A lot of people think it’s just exercise. We go above and beyond to help patients understand their condition, stay engaged, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
In this clip, respiratory therapist Elise Gonski is helping patients understand how to gauge their own effort using the Borg Scale – Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE).
Instead of just explaining it, we make it an interactive experience.
Patients work through real-life scenarios like walking, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs, and determine where they fall on the scale.
This is where the value comes in.
We’re not just guiding patients through sessions. We’re teaching them how to understand their limits, adjust their effort, and build confidence doing everyday activities on their own.
That’s what turns a rehab session into something that actually sticks.
Let us know your Borg Score for each activity in the comments. We’d love to hear how you’d rate them!
